When a owner-occupied or rental house becomes VACANT(means empty of people and contents) insurance companies can DENY a claim. In fact some may deny if vacant of people and contents for 1 day, others may give 30 or 60 days. The main issue is Vandalism or Malicious Mischief, including fire caused by arson.
