All Terrain Vehicles(ATV), should have a separate motorcycle policy, rather than rely on homeowner policy to protect a homeowner. Many ATV's are used to service a homeowner's property and never leave the property; however, my guess is the majority of ATV owners take the unit off the insured's premise. If a homeowner company provides ANY coverage for the motorized land vehicle then they certainly do NOT provide coverage while the ATV is off the residence premise; therefore, take out a separate ATV/Motorcycle policy for the unit(s).
There have been many injuries and unfortunately fatalities on an ATV. The time to find out the homeowner policy provides no coverage is not after a claim. Check with your insurance agent and protect your assets by simply taking out a ATV/Motorcycle policy for your unit. Also be sure and take out Liability Limits and coverage's like medical payments to protect the owner. Certainly consider an umbrella policy as well.
ANY questions please call Flanigan Insurance @ 314-727-6000 for your ATV/Motorcycle quote.
